One thing that made George Carlin different and why he actually could say those things ( I am not listing them here, Google it!) is that he got paid to and he made a joke of it. But I would like to address the issue as I see it today in public and on social media.
There is no place for it! When I read a post on facebook and see a vulgar word, I skip the post. It doesn't matter to me who said it or why, I simply ignore it and what's more, I think long and hard about seeing any more posts by that person (Isn't the "unfriend" button wonderful?). What really makes me scratch my head is when I read or hear those words come from a fellow business person who EXPECTS me to refer business to them? Sorry folks but I value my friends more than I do you and your business or any future referrals from you. In my opinion, there is simply no place in this world to have to express oneself in such a manner. Even disguising it as f$@# or s&#*, we all get the point and you could save more face and respect by putting it in terms you wouldn't mind your 10 year old hearing come from your mouth.
Is it really that important that you use such language to get your point across? Even if it is on your personal page as opposed to your business page, it is still out there to be seen and heard by all. Sometimes, as in the case with George Carlin, it is used in humor. Sorry, still doesn't cut it in my book. Now perhaps it did at one time and I don't claim to be perfect, I may have used it in anger a few years back, but as I get older, I realize the repercussions it can create and so should you. I hope this post will help my readers realize that what I have stated can only help them create more opportunities and friendships in their lives.
